Burlingame Locals Test Their Knowledge at History Trivia Night
On the evening of Wednesday, June 11th, history buffs and curious community members alike gathered at the Burlingame Woman's Club for a lively and entertaining Burlingame Trivia Night titled “So You Think You Know Burlingame? Think Again.”
Sponsored by the Woman’s Club in collaboration with Downtown Burlingame (aka DBBID) and the Burlingame Chamber of Commerce, local historians and community favorites Mark “at the Mic” Lucchesi and Russ Cohen presented an engaging educational event that was also full of laughs. With a packed house at 241 Park Road, attendees were challenged with quirky, insightful, and sometimes surprising questions about Burlingame’s past—from the early days of the train station to the evolution of downtown’s architecture and beloved landmarks.
The event was entirely free and open to the public, making it accessible for all ages. Even Mayor Stevenson and past City Council members joined in the fun! Prizes were awarded for correct answers to questions, though many attendees came simply to sit back, relax, and learn something new about the town they call home.
“We wanted to create an evening that was both fun and meaningful,” said Jennifer Johnson, Co-President of the Woman’s Club. “Burlingame has such a rich history that often goes unnoticed. This was a chance to shine a light on it.”
The trivia night drew a mix of long-time residents and newcomers, sparking community conversations and connections. Archival photos, shared anecdotes, and even a few friendly debates over answers helped make the night one to remember.
The response was enthusiastic thanks to our friends from the Burlingame Historical Society. Stay tuned for future history nights—Burlingame’s story is far from over!
